0.2.0

The Clips public beta starts with this version. Here is everything Clips does today.

  • Clipboard history: Clips saves the text, images, files, links and colours you copy. Press Win+V to bring them back, and just start typing to search
  • Panel position: the panel can open at the bottom, top, left or right of the screen, next to the mouse pointer, or by the tray icon
  • Pinboards and smart lists: pin what you use often to a pinboard, and save the filters you use often as smart lists
  • Paste Stack: copy several things in a row, then paste them one by one in order
  • Markdown preview: copied Markdown is laid out right in the card, and still pastes as the original text
  • Shortcuts: paste as plain text, pause recording, paste the Nth most recent item directly. All of them can be changed or switched off, and Win+V opens Clips from any window
  • Privacy: your history stays on this PC only; items that password managers and similar apps mark as confidential are not saved; you can ignore specific apps; Clips hides itself while you share your screen
  • Appearance: light, dark or follow the system, in 15 interface languages
  • Welcome tour: a step-by-step setup on first install, with a demo of the main features
  • Backup and updates: back up and restore your history; new versions install themselves
  • Send feedback: report problems and ideas from the panel or from Settings → About
  • Anonymous usage statistics: beta builds send basic information such as the app version and Windows version once a day, never any clipboard content. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy
